I have been cleaning out my closet to give myself room for the new trends for spring and summer. There are some very crazy colors and styles that were seen on the catwalk in New York, Paris, London, and Milan Fashion Week.
I have some trends that I love and some that are just not for me. There are 5 trends that really stood out to me.
- 80’s Shoulder pads
I feel like this trend keeps coming back into style. I have never been the biggest fan, but maybe thats because I already have strong broad shoulders. Balenciaga seemed to really enjoy this trend this season on the runway. http://www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/spring-2017-ready-to-wear/balenciaga
Sheer has been in style and seen a lot on celebrities lately. There is no surprise that the trend is continuing through the spring and summer. There were a lot of undergarments being shown on the runway this year. Dolce & Gabbana had many black sheer dresses on the runway that I loved. I love this trend, but I haven’t had the courage yet to walk around in sheer clothing. Maybe if I was a fashion Icon like Kendall or Gigi I would have a little more confidence. http://www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/spring-2017-ready-to-wear/dolce-gabbana
I am a huge fan of this trend! I am a small chested girl and I love the look of all these beautiful bralettes. I especially like the strappy look of the bralettes. We saw a lot of this trend on the catwalk with Alexander Wang.
4. White Dress
In the spring and summer maxi dresses are my go too. I especially love them in white. I was super excited to see white maxis showing up on the runway this season. I loved the white pieces from Alberta Ferretti runway show (dress pictured on the left).
5. Slogan T-shirt
This is probably my favorite trend of the season. I am a lover of graphic t-shirts. I really believe it is a great way to express yourself. On the catwalk these slogan tees had feminist sayings on them. My favorite tees were seen from Christian Dior.
I hope this post will bring some inspiration and ideas for spring and summer. I am super excited to add some new items to my closet going off these trends. Wish I could afford all these amazing designers, but I will have to settle with my bargain shopping for now.
Until next time…..TG
